LOCAL GUIDELINES

The purpose of the following guidelines is to ensure a smooth and safe golf round for players at Linna Golf.

Respect for Fellow Players
Show courtesy to fellow players and maintain your pace of play. A smile costs nothing but gives a lot.

Respect for the Course
Honor our top-quality course by leaving it in excellent condition for others. Repair divots and pitch marks, and dispose of trash in designated areas.

Constructive and Immediate Feedback
Complaining leaves a bad feeling for everyone involved, but constructive feedback is valuable and motivating! We welcome open feedback so we can improve together.

LOCAL RULES

Immovable Obstructions Near the Green (e.g., irrigation covers)

When the ball is in the general area, the player may take relief without penalty under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is on the line of play within two club lengths of the green and within two club lengths of the ball. (Note: Relief is not permitted under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.)

No Play Zone

No play zones on the course are marked with blue stakes or white paint. Relief from interference by a no play zone must be taken without penalty under Rule 16.1f.

RANGE AND PRACTICE AREA

  • The Driving Range, Chipping area, and Putting area are freely available daily.

  • A basket of balls (approx. 25 balls) on the range costs €3.00. The ball machine accepts contactless payment cards and the Linnalaisten Club card, which can be loaded with baskets by the Caddiemaster.

  • Range maintenance: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

HANDICAP LIMITS

  • The handicap limit for guest players during busy weekend times is 36. During quieter times, the limit is 54. Check the specific situation with the Caddiemaster.

  • The total combined handicap of a group can be a maximum of 125.

  • Players must have a valid membership and handicap card.

GOLF CARTS

  • It is recommended to book a golf cart when reserving your tee time.

  • You can get the golf cart key from the Caddiemaster, who will also provide additional instructions regarding its use.

  • Golf carts are located at the clubhouse. After your round, always return the cart to its numbered spot for charging and return the key to the Caddiemaster. If the Caddiemaster is closed, you can return the key to the restaurant or leave it in the glove compartment.

  • Instructions provided for using the golf cart must be strictly followed. Especially in wet weather and early or late in the season, driving on the course may be restricted to maintenance paths and the rough.

PACE OF PLAY

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable round for yourself and others, please adhere to the following pace of play guidelines:

  • 2 hours for 9 holes.
  • 4 hours and 20 minutes for 18 holes (including a 10-minute break after 9 holes).

HOLE LOCATIONS ON THE GREEN

Hole locations on the green are indicated by the following flag colors:

Black - back section

White - middle section

Yellow - front section

COURSE STAFF

  • Course staff have priority over players on the course. Always wait for their signal to avoid dangerous situations.

  • Greens are mowed in the mornings. Mowing will not be interrupted during this time.

  • All dangerous situations on the course are reported and handled on a case-by-case basis.

SAFETY

  • Always ensure there is enough space ahead of you before hitting.

  • If you are searching for your ball in the woods, leave your bag visible so that those behind you can see it and take note of your presence.

  • Remember to shout "FORE" at the slightest hint of danger!

THUNDERSTORMS

  • Playing in thunderstorms is dangerous: avoid using golf clubs, umbrellas, and carts. Do not seek shelter under tall trees either.

  • Play must be immediately stopped if there are dark clouds overhead and lightning and thunder are nearby. Players should seek shelter at the Clubhouse.

  • During competitions, staff or the competition director monitors the thunderstorm threat and will signal to stop play with air horns. The competition director will restart the event after the thunderstorm when it is safe.

  • Outside of events, when the Caddiemaster's office is open, the staff monitors the thunderstorm threat and will alert with a horn if necessary, but stopping play is the player's responsibility.

  • Responsibility for personal safety always lies with the player. Our golf course staff will try to inform about thunderstorms before and during the game, but ultimately the responsibility to stop playing lies with the player.

LOCKER ROOMS, SAUNAS, AND TOILETS

  • Saunas and locker rooms are freely available to players daily. Please check the current opening hours from the weekly bulletin.

  • Women's saunas are heated upon request during registration for the round.

  • The locker rooms have sauna and shower facilities, towels, toilets, and lockable storage cabinets.

  • Toilets are located at the clubhouse and after the 16th hole. A separate women's toilet is located between the 5th hole green and the 6th hole tee.
